The Turtle and the Trade Winds
The Turtle and the Trade Winds is a mesmerizing performance combining puppetry, dance, animation and original music.
The performance is an enchanting mix of tales that surround the sea turtle from Australia and Indonesia. These stories from different cultures are intertwined showing different aspects of the turtle's life and our rich seafaring history. Original music and songs from indigenous coastal communities of Australia and Indonesia weave their magic around you on this journey of discovery.
Captivating wooden and woven puppets present the myths, beliefs environment and life cycle of the sea turtle.
Vina the weaver can only weave her sacred symbols by the light of the full moon. Shipwrecked Indonesian fisherman are rescued by the turtle and carried to a safe island.
