The book is theirs to keep; under one condition: they should read the book and talk about it with fellow readers. This year the selected book is Oeroeg, first published in 1948, written by Hella S.Haasse, the nestor of Dutch literature. During the event the Indonesian translation of the book will be presented. The story of Oeroeg takes place in Indonesia and has a universal theme, the friendship between two persons from two different cultures in a time of political upheaval. Program :
